Rigid Leg Cuff for Stilts
Set of (2) Rigid Leg Cuffs
Looking for some upgrades to add to your stilts?
You can choose if you'd like them shipped to you and you'll install them, or if you'd like to have me install them on stilts you're purchasing.
This set of rigid leg cuffs will help you feel even more integrated with your stilts, taking some of the movement out of the leg brace by your knee.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
REMEMBER TO ALWAYS PRE-DRILL HOLES!
CUFF PLACEMENT NOTES: Be sure that you are able to FULLY bend your knee all the way compressed so that the metal of the rigid leg cuff doesn't affect the tendons behind your knee if you were to fall! Be sure that on both legs the placement is the same distance from the top of the leg brace. AVOID putting holes within the first 1" of the top of the leg brace. Stilts with a rigid leg brace like this should not be shared with other people unless they can also fully bend/compress their knees otherwise it can be very dangerous!
Use a drill with a T20 bit to remove the foam that is currently installed on your stilts.
IF you plan to move your knee strap, go ahead and remove that now too.
IF you don't plan to move your knee strap, then leave it in place.
Mark the holes of the leg cuff onto the wood at the height you'd like it placed.
Pre-Drill the marked holes using a 1/8" drill bit about an 1.25" depth.
Once you've marked, measured, and predrilled the holes, use a T20 bit and a drill to screw in and attach the leg cuff to the leg brace of the stilts.
If you were moving your knee strap as well, be sure to measure and pre-drill your new hole with a 3/32” drill bit (NOT with the same sized drill bit as you used for the leg cuff holes though, the screw diameters are different!)
